Tuscany is famous for its beautiful landscapes, but even there the Il Borro estate, located 50 kilometers south of Florence, in the town of San Gustino, attracts with its beauty. This area has a rich and long history. It is known that on part of the territory belonging to the modern estate, more than a thousand years ago there was a village. Later, these lands belonged to representatives of the powerful Medici family. The estate itself was built by Duke Amedeo of Savoy in the mid-19th century. In 1933, Il Borro was bought by Ferruccio Ferragamo, who by that time inherited the fashion house from his famous father Salvatore Ferragamo, known as the "Hollywood shoemaker".

All work on wine production is supervised by experienced oenologist Nicolo d'Afflitto. It was by his decision that, in addition to the traditional Tuscan Sangiovese, white and red international grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and Petit Verdot were planted on the magnificent lands of Il Borro. To improve the quality of the wines produced, the farm artificially reduces the yield by using short pruning of the vines and "green harvesting". Starting with 6,000 bottles of wine per year, Il Borro has now increased it to 200 thousand. And it should be noted that the increase in production was accompanied by qualitative growth, which can partly be explained by the maturation of the vines.

In Italy, they say that members of the Ferragamo family strive to lead in everything they do. Having once decided to produce their own wines, the head of the family made every effort to implement his project and successfully achieved his goal. It can be said that all Il Borro wines have their own signature - special sophistication and elegance. They are not just good - they are excellent!
