The Nico Lazaridi estate was founded in 1987 by Nikos Lazaridi, one of the most famous modernizers of winemaking in Greece. By that time, he already had experience working in a winery. Nikos' father had long been involved in winemaking, and with his help, Nikos created his first estate in the Drama region, in northern Greece. This region has been considered the birthplace of winemaking since ancient times. A team of experienced agronomists supervises the planting of vines and other operations in the estate's vineyards. The climate in these areas is Mediterranean, dry and mild. The vineyards are protected from the winds by a ring of mountains. Niko's son, Federico Lazaridi, also began working on the estate. It was he who organized a close-knit team of famous winemakers, thanks to whose efforts Nikos's estate has achieved great success.

On 80 hectares of vineyards located on the lands of Agora, Pigadia and Adriani, European varieties of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Ugni Blanc, Chardonnay, Grenache, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Sangiovese are grown. Experimental samples of vines of Greek origin, such as Greco di Tufo, Aglianico Grecaniko, are also planted. The Lazaridi family owns another winery - "Mackedon", which was built in 2000 in the Platanotopos district, near Mount Pangaio. Another area of ​​​​the company's activity is the restoration of ancient vineyards on the island of Mykonos, where 80-year-old vines of local varieties are grown. The Lazaridi family owns 85% of the Vineyard of Mykonos company.
