Cantina Produttori Cormons is a cooperative located in the very heart of Europe, not far from the northeastern border of Italy. Founded in the late 1960s, Cormons today brings together more than two hundred grape growers working on the various terroirs of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, covering about 469 hectares in total. On the premises there are eight meteorological stations, carefully analyzing the slightest changes in the weather. The estate aims to minimize the use of chemical agents to fight pests, striving to reach organic standards. The soils are predominantly marly, clay, alluvial, and sandy, with high mineral content. Cormons takes daily work in the vineyards very seriously. For all cooperative members a special Code of Conduct has been developed, which requires compliance; in the so‑called “wooden notebook” the exact timing of winter pruning, the onset of physiological stages in the vines, and all detailed information about each vintage are recorded, allowing assessment of yield quality and its genetic variation. Since 1986, twenty well-known artists (Zancani, Giacomelli, Ornella, Menon and others) have been invited to decorate bottles made from Slavonian oak and to transform the cellar into a genuine art gallery. Cantina Produttori Cormons is one of the founders of the “Wine of the World” project, which since 1986 brings together more than 500 men, women, and children from around the world who participate in wine production.
