In 1876, August Kuentzmann Damm arrived from Alsace to Barcelona, where he founded the Damm Brewery, which is currently the oldest brewery in Spain. In 1910, the brewery merged with two other Spanish breweries to form SA Damm. In 2001, the company acquired four new beers, two brands of water, and a new logistics company, becoming Grupo Damm.
Today, Grupo Damm is Anheuser Busch's marketing and distribution partner for Budweiser in Spain, brewing Budweiser for Spain and several other countries in Europe and the Middle East. Every fifth bottle of beer drunk in Spain is a Grupo Damm beer.
