Tashkent Hosts the National Qualifier for The Best Sommelier of the Great Steppe 2025

On September 10, 2025, Tashkent became the epicenter of the Central Asian wine scene, hosting the Uzbek national qualifier for the prestigious competition The Best Sommelier of the Great Steppe 2025. The event gathered the country's top sommeliers - professionals who shape wine culture in restaurants, wine bars, and boutiques every day.

Contestants went through a series of rigorous challenges:
Theory exam
Blind tasting
Practical wine service & food pairing tasks
Scenario-based problem solving — all aligned with international standards.

A Wine Salon for the Whole Industry. Alongside the competition, a wine salon was organized - a platform for tastings, networking, and knowledge sharing. The event brought together sommeliers, restaurateurs, distributors, importers, wine houses, gastronomic experts, and enthusiasts from all over Uzbekistan.

The final round of the competition will take place in Baku on October 30, judged by industry leaders: Artem Lebedev, Teymur Khalilov, Igor Baranov, and Anastasia Filyuta.
